Winfield Assists on House Fire

Winfield Firefighters were alerted on Tuesday afternoon at 4:35pm for a reported house fire in the 2400 Block of Flash Marsh Road. First arriving Engine 41 (Lisbon VFD) reported heavy fire from the side and rear of the dwelling. Crews made a quick interior attack on the blaze quickly bringing it under control. Rescue 1 (Mt Airy VFD) arrived and Chief 1-2 (Kenny Stull) assumed Command assisted by Captain 14 (Greg Dods). Winfield's Engine 142 arrived and worked on interior fire attack and overhaul. Winfield's Tanker 14 assisted with water supply. A total of 60 firefighters from the surrounding Carroll and Howard Counties responded. Units went in service at 18:00 hours.
