About Us
The Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer fire department located in south/central Carroll County, Maryland. We are known as Carroll County Station 14 – and we were founded in 1965. The Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department currently has approximately 100 active volunteer members and we respond to over 1200 emergency responses each and every year.
The Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department's "First Due" areas include: Winfield, Taylorsville, Woodbine, Barrett, Dorsey, Pickett’s Corner, Linton Springs, and Franklinville, Maryland. The area runs from Woodbine Road at the Howard/Carroll County Line in the South to Nicodemus Road and Salem Bottom Road in the North. The first due area runs from Route 26 and the Carroll/Frederick County Line in the West (Winfield actually has a first due area in a portion of Frederick County also) to Route 26 and White Rock Road in the East. It includes four schools, South Carroll High, Century High, Winfield Elementary and Linton Springs Elementary. It is mostly rural with only a small portion, near Century High School, protected by hydrants. The map below shows Winfield's first due area.
Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department provides "Second Due" coverage to Mt. Airy, Sykesville, New Windsor, and Gamber fire departments in Carroll County, and Libertytown fire department in Frederick County.
