On Sunday, June 17, 2018, the 39th Annual MSFA Miss Fire Prevention Ambassador Contest took place in Ocean City, MD. Richard Brooks, III, served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Eight contestants competed for the title: Cari McHenry, representing Montgomery County, Sierra Hawkins, representing MD Fire Chief's, Christina Thomas, representing Talbot County, Madeline Moore, representing Harford-Cecil Firemen's Association, Brieanne Reed Combs, representing Frederick County, Tallin Lee Pucher, representing Harford County, Alison Little, representing Cecil County and Talor Blizzard, representing Carroll County.

Earlier in the day the contestants met with the judges to discuss their poster projects. On stage, each contestant answered "What is your agenda for promoting fire prevention across Maryland" as well as one other fire prevention question picked at random.

While the judges deliberated we heard outgoing speeches from Sarah Paul, MSFA Miss Fire Prevention 2017-2018 and Lauren Caudill, MSFA Miss Fire Prevention First Runner-Up 2017-2018. Both did an amazing job this past year representing their fire department, county and the MSFA.

Remarks were also made by MSFA President Mark Bilger, LAMSFA President Vivian Morgan Boyd and State Fire Marshal Brian Geraci. Teresa Crisman also presented checks to Sarah and Lauren to assist with some of their costs they incurred this past year.

Susan Hilton then asked for all Fire Prevention Ambassadors to come up on stage to be recognized. Laurie Logue-Ruckman was present from Winfield

The judges then came back and it was announced that the MSFA Miss Fire Prevention First Runner-Up 2018-2019 is Brienne Reed Combs from Frederick County and the MSFA Miss Fire Prevention 2018-2019 is Alison Little from Cecil County. Congratulations to all on a job well done.
