Early Thursday morning surrounding fire departments were alerted at 4:22a.m. for a house fire in the 2800 Block of Bird View Road. First arriving units from Gamber Fire Company arrived to smoke showing and Chief 13-1 established the command. The house was evacuated and crews quickly went to work extinguishing the fire. Winfield's Engine 142 assisted with extinguishing the fire in the attic area and pulling ceilings/overhaul on the second floor while Tanker 14 assisted with water supply. Units went in service just after 6:00a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation from the Maryland State Fire Marshall’s office.
